Qualification:
The vice president of operations will report directly to the chief executive officer and will be responsible for the successful execution of the company’s business plan. The vice president of operations will directly oversee all local functions of the company’s operations including:
• Client services
• Recruiting
• IT
• Facilities
• Customer operations
Duties of the Vice President Of Operations
• Supervise other managers and staff
• Coordinate business operations including expansion of operations
• Develop new business strategies
• Support the sales process with prospective clients
• Work directly with current clients
• Set goals for the operation based on the company's plans
• Hiring and firing staff
• Provide reporting / regular communication to the executive team
• Make presentations to top executive team
• Develop new business opportunities
• Represent the company locally at trade events, PR events etc.
Skills Necessary for a Vice president of operations
• Leadership ability
• Strong team building skills
• Ability to build and retain a high performance team
• Work independently without direct supervision
• Understanding of how to develop and implement business strategies
• Thorough knowledge of the BPO industry (technology services preferred)
• Ability to work well with all levels of management including executive leadership and support staff
• Able to supervise staff of middle management and support staff
• Know how to effectively delegate work
• Problem-solving and conflict management
Other Qualifications
• Possesses a high energy level
• Experience working in a fast paced start-up environment
• Possesses a “whatever it takes” mentality - willing to go beyond stated job description to make the company successful
Vice President Operations Credentials
• A minimum of 5 years in a related management position
• A Bachelor's degree (College degree) in business or in a field related field - REQUIRED
• A Master's degree in business administration (MBA) or a related field - PREFERRED
• Completion of college level math and business courses such as accounting, financial management or business law
• Minimum 8 years experience in the BPO/Technical Development outsourcing industries - EXPERIENCE WORKING FOR AMERICAN COMPANY PREFERRED
• Participation in formal executive training programs
• Other related certifications
